About Shinobue
The shinobue is one of the Japanese woodwind instruments.
In Japan, the term 'o-matsuri no fue' (lit. festival flute) often refers to the shinobue.
Shinobue have a range of two and a half octaves.
The shinobue is a type of transverse flute, which is similar to the flute of Western instruments. Although there are differences in the scale and fingering, in principle it can be thought of as a bamboo flute with the key device removed, the number of holes made to match the number of human fingers, and the length made easier to hold.
The shinobue is one of the transverse flutes that retains its simplest original form, and is very interesting as a modern instrument.
The length of the shinobue is between that of the concert flute and the piccolo, and most of them have a sound range between that of the concert flute and the piccolo.
